This week's top story Financial crisis sees clergy stipends frozen FOURTEEN DIOCESES will freeze clergy stipends this year, refusing to follow  Church recommendations that clergy income should rise by at least one per cent. The new stipends are generally implemented from the beginning of April, but ahead of their official statements, several dioceses have announced that they are budgeting in expectation of a complete freeze on stipends.
