Faith-hate crimes ‘are being under-reported’

FIGURES SEEN by The Church of England Newspaper reveal that vital information about faith-hate crimes in the UK is being unreported.
In the Metropolitan area alone 82 per cent of recorded faith-hate crimes reported in 2006-07 omitted both the identity of the victim and the offender’s religion. The discovery comes as another cleric was violently attacked this month in East London. The incident was barely reported, despite occurring only eight weeks after Canon Michael Ainsworth was attacked in Tower Hamlets by Asian youths in a faith-hate incident.
